Dear Kindergarten Families,

Here is what's going on in Kindergarten next week:

Tuesday is our exciting Halloween party (12:30-2:00) that our wonderful Room Moms are organizing.! Our kindergarten parade will be at 11:00.  Please have your child wear their costume to school (costume weapons are not allowed at school).  If their costume is uncomfortable, they may bring a change of clothes in their backpacks.

We will not be having our regular centers Monday or Tuesday so we will not need any parent volunteers Monday this week between 1:00-2:00.  However, if you would like to come help out during our Halloween party, please come at 12:30 on Tuesday.

Writers Workshop: students will finish writing their Monster Stories. They are focusing on writing about a main character, describing the setting of where their monster lives and finally writing about what their monster likes to do. The stories are turning out so cute!

Language Arts: Students will focus on the "_ig" word family as they finish reading the book called "Tan Van".

Word of the Week: "have"

Math: We will work on solving Halloween themed word problems through a variety of different math strategies. We are also learning about tally marks and students will practice counting with tally marks by using popsicle sticks.

Hope you had a great weekend and a enjoy a safe Halloween,

Cathy Werner
