Hello Kindergarten Families,

We will continue our ocean unit this week. The students will make an animal report, scuba diver, sea star and read many more non-fiction books about sea animals.

In math, we will work on decomposing and composing numbers to 10 using math sentences and number bonds. Please help your child learn math facts to 10 and practice recognizing and writing numbers to 20. The "teen" numbers are tricky for some, so please review at home.

Word Wall Words:  "saw" and review "was"

Thank you to all the parents who drove/ chaperoned on our field trip to Earth Live Farms! The children all had a wonderful time learning about plants and animals! Many thanks! We couldn't do it without you!

A great big thank you to Dina Lee and Sandra Moran for for teaching an impromptu gardening lesson with our class! The children had a great time and our garden as never looked so good!

This Tuesday is Rio's Kinder Round-Up. If you have any friends or family members who have an incoming kinder, please have them stop by the office to pick-up an orientation packet.

May 4th is Rio's Open House.  It's a great opportunity for your child to show off his/her work.  All family members are welcome to join!

Have a fantastic week,

Cathy Werner
