Hello Kindergarten Families,

We only have 6 more weeks of school! These last few weeks will be busy with many fun activities. Please stay updated by checking  emails. :)

This week is our Open House. The whole family is invited. Be sure and come for dinner! Our fifth graders put on a burrito dinner an hour before Open House. This dinner helps raise money for science camp next year. Please turn in your burrito feed form by tomorrow. Open House starts at 6:30. Your child will be your tour guide. They will show you all their outstanding work around the classroom. I look forward to seeing you all there!

This week, we will finish up our projects for Open House and begin completing projects for end of the year.  If you haven't turn in a baby picture for our "Growing Up" books, please do so this week!!! If you have 2 households, please send in 2 pictures.

"Star of the Day" : This round of sharing will be to bring in anything from the ocean. It could be a book, animal, coral, shells, etc. You can have clues for them to guess or not.

Thank you all for helping with Jogging for the Arts.  The money goes towards Art and Music programs for our school.  We will be starting Spectra Art this week with Bob Reid. He is a talented musician and has been performing for schools and teaching students to sing for many years. He will be singing with all Kindergarten classes on Wednesdays mornings for the next month.  We will have a performance in June. We are trying to coordinate the performance with our promotion ceremony day so that all parents can attend!

In math, we are working on adding and subtracting, place value and money. In "math centers", we will be exchanging 5 pennies for a nickel to teach the value of coins.
