Dear Kindergarten Families,

Next week we will continue our book study of the different versions of The Gingerbread Man.  Students will play a fun math game using dice to "Roll a Gingerbread Man".  They will also practice phonemic awareness with a Gingerbread Rhyming activity.

Reading: We will be reading "Ken and Jen" and focusing on the "_ug" word family.

Word of the Week: are

Math: Students are practicing different ways to solve and explain their reasoning of different mathematical word problems through the use of ten frames, number lines and manipiulatives.  If you are using the optional math support book at home with your child, please help them complete pages 41-45.

Writer's Workshop: We are in the process of writing "How To" books, specifically how to be a good friend. The students are learning about the "sentence starters": First, Next and Last and are practicing how to write stories in sequential order.

As a reminder, we are a peanut-free classroom.  There are 2 students from the other kinder classes who are highly allergic to peanuts and since we eat with those students regularly, please be mindful of this policy when packing food for your child. Thank you!
