Dear Kindergarten Families,
Here is what's going on in Kindergarten next week:
Monday at 12:30 is our exciting Halloween party that our wonderful Room Moms, Carol Dudley (Jameson's mom) and Dina Lee (Logan's Mom) are organizing. Please come to our school-wide costume parade at 10:35. Please have your child wear their costume to school (costume weapons are not allowed at school). If their costume is uncomfortable, they may bring a change of clothes in their backpacks.
Throughout November, we will discuss the concepts of Thanksgiving, specifically what it means to be "thankful" and "giving". This week students will create a fun turkey art project. Later in the month we are doing an art project that needs egg cartons. If anyone has any empty egg cartons at home, we would love to use them!!
Language Arts: Students will focus on the "_ig" word family as they read a book called "Big Rig".
Word of the Week: "is"
Math: We will focus on identifying, writing and creating teen numbers (11-19). We are also learning about tally marks and students will practice counting with tally marks by using popsicle sticks.
Have a wonderful weekend and a safe Halloween,
Catherine Werner
